Theater «rien ne va plus» – a portrait

Since 1989 I've been leading the theatre group «rien ne va plus» in Bern, Switzerland. Together with the group's playwright, I choose the content of the new production. The playwright is completely responsible for the text and I'm responsible for the production. At the rehearsals we (actors and director) work with improvisation concerning the content and the roles within the play. If interesting ideas arise from this improvisation, the playwright will include them in his text. Music, photography and special performance venues, for example old factorys or small theatres, are often a part of the production. After we have developed a theatre play,we usually performe it for two month four times a week.
